How luscious is this color, you guys?? When I think of lavender, images of chickens or frogs don’t normally pop into my head first, but it is really fascinating to see animals in this shade. I think most people automatically imagine the flower of the same name, yet this beautiful shade of purple can be found in lots of different areas of nature and design. Lavender is a very soothing yet lively color, and has both feminine and masculine qualities.
According to colorpsychology.org Lavender is associated with youth and vitality, as well as royal kingship, creativity, and springtime. Depending upon the context, lavender can conjure feelings of order and peace, or disorder and chaos. There is a wildness to the color that is best represented in unexpected forms, like say, on a chicken, or in a drink or hair color for instance. Storm clouds will sometimes take on this color right before a squall, and yet a slightly different shade of lavender can be seen in a peaceful, serene sunset. I think this is what makes this particular color so fun to play with in design, because it can evoke so many different feelings depending on what you choose to do with it.
I hope you enjoy these lively lavender images I’ve put together here. Thanks for reading! XOXO
